Full-Time Private Nanny / Mother’s Helper – $40+/Hour
Location: North Saanich, Vancouver Island, BC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

About the Position
We are an active, entrepreneurial family seeking an exceptional, experienced Private Nanny / Mother’s Helper to support our two children, ages 11 and 3½. Our 11-year-old is mature and largely independent, while our younger child attends preschool.
This position combines attentive childcare with child-related household support. We are looking for someone warm, dependable, organized, discreet, and proactive who enjoys creating engaging and educational experiences for young children.
The position will be based in North Saanich through October 31, with the potential to relocate with our family to the United States or The Bahamas beginning November 1 for continued long-term employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm, attentive care for our 3½-year-old
- Assist with morning routines and preschool preparation
- Plan age-appropriate educational activities, reading, crafts, imaginative play, and outdoor experiences
- Create structured learning activities on non-preschool days
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
- Provide occasional support for our independent 11-year-old
- Manage children's laundry, bedding, clothing, toys, books, and belongings
- Keep children's bedrooms, play areas, and other child-related spaces organized
- Assist with child-related errands, supplies, appointments, outings, and travel preparation
- Anticipate routine needs and communicate clearly with parents
Household responsibilities are primarily child-related rather than general housekeeping.
Qualifications
Required:
- Professional nanny, childcare, early childhood education, or similar experience
- Experience caring for preschool-aged children
- Current First Aid and child/infant CPR certification
- FoodSafe certification or willingness to obtain it
- Clear criminal-record/vulnerable-sector check
- Excellent professional references
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Fluent or highly proficient English
- Non-smoker
Preferred:
- 3+ years of professional childcare/private-family experience
- ECE, teaching, or child-development background
- Experience planning developmentally appropriate learning activities
- Private household or nanny/family-assistant experience
- Valid passport and international travel experience
- Interest in relocating internationally and building a long-term relationship with the family
Compensation & Benefits
- $40+ per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- Monday–Friday daytime schedule
- Approved additional hours paid at time-and-a-half, as applicable
- Live-in or live-out options
- Private accommodations and agreed household living expenses provided for live-in employee
- Potential international relocation beginning November 1
- Family will coordinate and cover required visas, work permits, immigration documentation, and related professional assistance for international employment, subject to applicable requirements
