This is a split-shift position. Your daily working hours are 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and 2:30-5:30 p.m./ 2:45-5:45 p.m. (7 worked hours per day).

Qualifications
- Strong command of the English language
- Hold an Early Childhood Education Diploma from an accredited institution or its equivalent
- Must have proof of current registration with the College of Early Childhood Education and be a membership in good standing
- Must have a current clear Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check
- Hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR certificate
- Must provide an up-to-date immunization record as per Toronto Public Health requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children ages 2.5 - 11 years of age, Preschool, Kindergarten, and School-Age
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Experience with MS Office
- Working knowledge of the CCEYA and the City of Toronto’s AQI
- Working knowledge of Toronto Public Health requirements and standards
- Willingness to be flexible, versatile and/or tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency
- Ability to work independently, managing time and workload
- Possess excellent behaviour guidance skills that include positive reinforcement, redirection strategies, and co-regulation
- Experience with children requiring extra support needs
- Minimum 3 references (preferably supervisors from previous employment positions in a child care setting)
Duties
- CCEYA, How Does Learning Happen, and the City of Toronto’s AQI
- Must be flexible regarding any changes in shifts – To be discussed during the interview
- Develop and implement with your “team” individual and group curriculums for school-age children incorporating the HDLH Framework
- Ensure that the Program Philosophy and Behavour Guidance Policies of the centre is upheld
- Ability to successfully carry out administrative duties as required
- Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written); highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to co-operate, follow instructions and make difficult decisions; ability to deal with conflict
- Comfortable in a Team environment that is fast-paced and very creative
- Demonstrated ability to work with families in complex situations and from a variety of cultures
- Skills and interests in creative art, drama, music, science, literacy and numeracy programs
- A genuine love and commitment towards the Early Childhood Profession and working with young children
- Knowledge of pictorial documentation, able to photograph, print and display classroom experiences
