Schedule: As needed between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (may include split shifts)
COMPENSATION:
Base Wage:
- Level 1: $15.50 – $17.50
- Level 2: $17.50 – $19.00
- Level 3: $19.00 – $20.50
(Based on certification, experience, and role placement)
Wage Top-Up:
Eligible under the Alberta Child Care Grant Program:
- Level 1: +$2.64/hour
- Level 2: +$5.05/hour
- Level 3: +$8.62/hour
Wage top-ups are government-funded and subject to eligibility and approval.
Driver Premium:
+$0.50 – $1.00/hour depending on level of driving responsibility

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring Casual Early Childhood Educators (Level 1, 2, or 3) to support both classroom coverage and transportation (school pick-up/drop-off).
This is a flexible, on-call role supporting:
- Staff absences
- Ratio coverage
- Transportation needs
Summer months may offer increased hours and full-day shifts.
HOURS OF WORK
Shifts may vary and are scheduled as needed:
- Between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
May include:
- Morning and afternoon driving shifts
- Midday classroom support
- Full-day coverage (summer)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Classroom & Child Supervision
- Support daily routines and supervision in accordance with licensing requirements
- Maintain a calm, safe, and structured environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs
- Assist with transitions, programming, and classroom flow
Transportation Support (Driver Role)
- Safely transport children to and from school (as assigned)
- Complete daily vehicle safety checks and follow transportation procedures
- Ensure accurate attendance and child verification during pick-up/drop-off
- Follow all traffic safety and organizational policies
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure children are supervised at all times
- Follow all licensing, health, and safety standards
- Report incidents, concerns, or risks to leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
- Alberta ECE Level 1, 2, or 3 Certification
- Valid Alberta Class 4 Driver’s License OR Class 5 (Non-GDL) with willingness to obtain Class 4
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Child Intervention Record Check
EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with children in a group care or school-age setting
- Comfortable supporting different classrooms and age groups
- Experience supporting children with diverse needs is an asset
