Job Summary:
Tekarra Project Services Ltd. is a Western Canadian energy company focused on support for projects that promote environmental protection within the professional scientific and technical oil and gas services through technical analysis and forward thinking. To achieve these goals, Tekarra is seeking a self-motivated, ambitious, and professional Engineering Summer Student to support our Calgary-based engineering team.
General Responsibilities:
· Debug and test our mobile app to identify problems and propose resolutions.
· Follow detailed requirements to create unit tests in a reasonable and efficient timeline.
· Collaborate with other team members to solve technical and software related problems.
· Provide input to solve complex problems through the use of logic and software.
· Committed to continued career in software development.
· Knowledgeable and up to date with latest industry best practices.
Experience, Qualifications, and Education:
· Experience and strong understanding of logic and logical processes to solve complex software related problems.
· Knowledge of common programming methodologies.
· Good research skills including identifying when research is required, validating credible sources, and self-directing research related tasks.
· Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to request
· Ability to work self-directed tasks with good time management skills.
· REQUIRED to have:
· Knowledge of Java, React, React Native, Firebase, Expo, GitHub, Google Cloud functions.
· Experience testing software applications.
· Experience in the Software Development industry.
· A Degree, Diploma, or related experience in the field of Software Engineering.
· Experience using project management and source control tools.
· Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or refugee status.
