Job Summary
On behalf of client; We are seeking a skilled CHIEF OFFICER on a Live fish carrier (permanent position). Desired sign on date 30th of July. This role requires a strong commitment to teamwork and adherence to safety protocols.
Example duties
- Navigation & Watchkeeping
- Cargo & Fish Welfare: Overseeing live fish loading, transport, and unloading operations, ensuring fish welfare monitoring.
- Safety & Security: Serving as the Safety Officer, maintaining emergency preparedness, conducting drills, and ensuring compliance with safety management systems.
- Deck Operations & Maintenance: Supervising deck crew, maintenance of cargo tanks, pumping systems, and deck machinery.
- Administration & Training: Managing documentation, stability calculations, work/rest hours, and assisting in training.
Skills
- Fish master 4 (minimum)
- GOC, BRM, IMO80, and other relevant certificates according to STCW 78
- Valid Medical certificate for seamen.
- Experience from live fish carriers is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
Note: The ship is trading in east coast Canada (Newfoundland/ Nova Scotia). Salary according to experience. 1:1 system, equal payment when home as when onboard. 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off.

Pay: $8,200.00-$9,600.00 per month
