Service Manager
Location: Atlantic Canada (Dartmouth, NS)
A well-established, multi-location heavy truck and equipment dealership in Atlantic Canada is currently seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead operations within its Truck Service department. This organization represents a major OEM brand and operates multiple full-service locations across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Service Operations, the Service Manager is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and performance of the Truck Service department. This role focuses on optimizing workforce scheduling, shop productivity, and asset utilization while delivering high levels of customer satisfaction. The Service Manager plays a key leadership role, working collaboratively with the broader management team to support operational excellence and organizational strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive performance by clearly communicating expectations, planning work, monitoring outcomes, and coaching employees.
- Foster strong customer relationships through regular engagement, needs assessment, and issue resolution.
- Promote a safe, efficient, and high-quality service environment by enforcing standards, policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Develop staffing plans and schedules aligned with operational priorities; ensure timely and accurate payroll submission.
- Oversee and effectively utilize work order and repair order systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized shop environment, supporting 5S principles and OEM program standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in the heavy equipment or automotive repair industry; truck and trailer experience is considered an asset.
Proven experience coaching and leading technicians, mechanics, or skilled trades teams.
- Familiarity with OEM warranty processes and administrative requirements.
- Strong leadership capability with a demonstrated ability to motivate, engage, and empower teams.
- Effective conflict-resolution skills and the ability to lead teams through change.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
- Successful candidates must be able to provide a clean criminal background check and a clean driver’s abstract.
