Title: Aboriginal Head Start Program Advisor
Salary: $83,318 - $90,034 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Term until March 31, 2028
Hours: 37.5 hours (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: FNHA's Northern Region of B.C. A flexible work model within the Northern Region (Hybrid/Remote) may be an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy.

About the role
Play a key role in empowering First Nations communities to deliver impactful, culturally safe early childhood programs. In this role, you will support communities, FNHA teams, and partners to strengthen and enhance Aboriginal Head Start On-Reserve (AHSOR) programming. You will build capacity by developing resources, fostering supportive networks, and advancing community-driven approaches that help children and families thrive.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have/be –
Education & Experience
-
3 years of experience in delivering Aboriginal Head Start on Reserve or licensed childcare programs, including staff and budget management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certification in Early Childhood Education
-
Proven ability to assess community needs and collaborate with communities and partners to find solutions.
-
Experience working with First Nations communities or organizations on early childhood learning initiatives, strategies, program planning and development, and related issues.
-
Skilled in project management, including developing and delivering workshops, training programs, and other methods for knowledge transfer.
Knowledge
-
Knowledge of theories, practices and principles related to early child learning/development

Knowledge of needs specific to Aboriginal/First Nations populations in the area of early child learning and development

The Pay Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full time equivalent hours. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
