Job Description
Bouquet Café is a flower shop and coffee bar, located in downtown Vancouver, offering specialty coffee in a warm, thoughtfully designed space.
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Barista to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident behind the bar, comfortable working independently, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
We are a small, hands-on team and value shared responsibility for the space.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso-based drinks and brewed beverages consistently and to standard
- Steam milk properly and maintain drink quality and presentation
- Provide friendly, professional, and attentive customer service
- Take orders and process payments using the POS system
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, seating area, and back-of-house, including washing cups and tools, managing waste and recycling, and taking out garbage as needed
- Assist with front-of-house tasks as needed
- Occasionally assist with floral pickups or simple packaging (no floral experience required)
- Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and bar tools
- Assist with opening and closing duties
Requirements
- Previous hands-on barista experience
- Ability to consistently prepare espresso beverages with basic latte art (e.g., heart, rosetta)
- A positive, calm attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly in English with customers and team members
- Reliability and punctuality
- Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and organization
- Food Safe certification
- Willingness to maintain a clean, polished, and professional appearance in line with the café’s aesthetic
Schedule
- Approximately 14–22 hours per week
- Opening and closing shifts available
- Weekend availability required
Compensation
- Hourly pay starting at BC minimum wage
