Duties
- Greet customers warmly, assist with product selections, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on baked goods and pastries
- Package baked items efficiently, ensuring freshness and presentation quality for retail sale or catering orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery display case, workstations, and storage areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food preparation tasks such as slicing bread, assembling sandwiches, or preparing ingredients for baking processes
- Support food production by baking bread, pastries, or other items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Use proper knife skills for cutting, decorating, or portioning baked goods while adhering to safety protocols
- Assist with catering orders by preparing large quantities of baked items and ensuring timely delivery for events or functions
Qualifications
- Previous experience in baking, pastry arts, or food preparation is highly desirable; culinary or kitchen experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and food safety regulations to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and create positive interactions
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, mixers, ovens, and packaging tools
- Experience in food industry roles such as restaurant work or catering enhances your fit for this position
- Attention to detail in food presentation and packaging to ensure high-quality products are delivered every time
