Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Plastic Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Orangeville. This role involves operating various plastic processing machinery during morning and night shifts, ensuring high-quality production standards are met. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with plastics blow molding, extrusion, injection molding, and fabrication processes. Responsibilities
- Operate plastic manufacturing equipment including plastics blow molding machines, extrusion lines, injection molding presses, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and press brake machines.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools to ensure products meet specifications.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently using forklifts and other warehouse equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of machinery to maximize uptime and performance.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall production efficiency.
- Assist with fabrication and assembly tasks as needed, utilizing hand tools and mechanical knowledge for minor repairs or adjustments.
- Document production data accurately, including shift reports, inspection logs, and maintenance records.
Skills
- Proven experience operating plastics blow molding, extrusion, injection molding, CNC lathe, CNC machining centers, and press brake machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to plastics manufacturing processes and equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine operation control.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers for quality inspection.
- Warehouse experience including materials handling with forklifts and safe storage practices.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
