Production Supervisor – Bakery Operations
Shift: 4:00 PM until closing
Salary: $65,000 – $75,000/year
Location: Woodbridge
Industry Requirement: Commercial bakery experience (industrial-only experience will not be considered)
Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily bakery production to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing. This role plays a key part in achieving production targets, maintaining food safety standards, optimizing labour performance, and ensuring compliance with GMP and HACCP regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute daily production schedules based on orders and shipping needs
- Conduct pre-shift inspections and ensure operational readiness
- Supervise production activities to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and GMP standards
- Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs), including metal detection and flour sifting
- Review and validate production and HACCP documentation
- Ensure labour efficiency aligns with production goals and KPIs
- Monitor product quality (weights, packaging accuracy, labeling compliance)
- Track and improve production performance metrics including OEE
- Coordinate with maintenance and warehouse teams to resolve operational issues
- Ensure sanitation and cleaning protocols are completed and documented
- Oversee traceability, product release, and recall readiness
- Enforce health & safety standards and ensure PPE compliance
- Lead, motivate, and support team members on the production floor
- Manage conflicts and drive problem-solving during shifts
- Investigate incidents and complete reports as required
- Escalate critical issues to management when necessary
Skills & Experience:
- 2–5 years of supervisory experience in commercial bakery or food manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety practices
- Solid understanding of bakery production operations and machinery
- Experience with Excel reporting, ERP systems, and KPI tracking
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities
- Stable work history (no frequent job changes)
Working Environment:
- Fast-paced commercial bakery setting
- Exposure to hot ovens and cold storage areas
- Majority of time spent on the production floor
- Evening shift work with potential for extended hours
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
