A line cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food in a restaurant or other food service establishment. Qualifications for a line cook include:

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods of time.
