Proline Rentals & Bins has locations in Port Carling, Parry Sound, Gravenhurst, and Orillia. We rent a wide range of small and large equipment, including excavators, sky jacks, bobcats, and lawn and garden equipment. We are currently seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to inspect, service, and repair motorized and non-motorized power equipment, machinery, and tools. You’ll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues and perform the repairs necessary to keep our equipment running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:

Discuss equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed with the lead mechanic

Perform routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs

Sharpen saw blades and other small equipment tools
-
Test and inspect rental equipment after each rental period for damages and proper function

Record any damages or malfunctions for management

Repair or replace worn, defective, or broken parts

Reassemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs

Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used
What You Bring:
-
Licensed Small Engine Mechanic or Apprentice
-
Proficient with a variety of hand tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers and other tools

Able to use compression gauges, ammeters, and voltmeters to test engine performance
-
Experience with pneumatic tools and diagnostic equipment

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Detail-oriented and dexterous

Excellent customer service skills
-
Ability to lift 50lbs, and occasionally up to 80lbs and perform the essential duties of the position
