Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:
Cash Office & Accounting tasks
- Daily processing of Accounts Payable
- Handling petty cash
- Processing Bank Deposits
- Completing Daily Internal Income Audits
- Respond to inquiries and other tasks related to maintaining the accounts receivable & payables records
- Routinely perform accounting reconciliations, account aging analysis and establish clear and concise communication with colleagues and vendors
- Reconciling bank statements
- Preparing month/period end reporting
- Preparing AR Invoices
- Auditing payments
- Assisting with year-end account reconciliations
- Aid with statistical summaries for budgeting
- Provide backup support to other departmental managers
- Assisting with Payroll Administration and Accounts Receivable as required
- Ensuring proper storage of accounting documents
- Perform other duties as assigned
Human Resources tasks
- Assist in the recruitment & onboarding process
- Support Managers to facilitate the new hire orientation process, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and new employees are properly onboarded
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files for all STHS employees
- Ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements and data protection regulations
- Prepare and update employee contracts, job descriptions with Managers within Ceridian Dayforce
- Dayforce audits of timesheets and pay processing
- Processing of employee gratuities for payroll
- Act as a point of contact for employee/manager questions and concerns
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through engagement initiatives
- Stay informed about changes in labour regulations and update HR policies accordingly
- Track and maintain records of employee training and development activities
- Coach managers to complete communication forms and the progressive disciplinary process as needed
- Support the lay off’s of the seasonal workforce
- Participate in organizing staff engagement initiatives and events
- Support the uniform program
- Assisting in the development and implementation of policies and ensuring company practices align with these policies.
Occupational Health & Safety
- Collaborate with the safety team to ensure a safe work environment
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety protocols and emergency response procedures
- Support monthly inspections
- Assist Managers with worksafe documentation and submission
- Aid with investigations as needed
- Occasionally attend JOHSC meetings, post information and updates fr these meetings and other health and safety reminders regularly
- Review compliance documentation & certifications
- Support the COR audit process
