Westside Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) is launching an ambitious new era. Having recently integrated into the prestigious Surf Nation affiliate network, we are positioned to become the premier player development program in the entire Okanagan region.
We are seeking an elite, forward-thinking Technical Director to take total operational and tactical command of our on-field product. This isn't just a job—it is a high-profile leadership vehicle designed for an ambitious professional who wants to shape the future of Canadian youth soccer.

- Competitive Base Salary: $70,000 per year to start.

The Mission: Roles & Key Responsibilities
As Technical Director, you will collaborate directly with the Executive Director to engineer and execute a modern blueprint for club excellence. Your mandate includes:
Technical Strategy & Club Innovation
- Forge the Blueprint: Design and implement the club’s official Technical Plan and overarching Game Model for all player and coach development pathways.
- Drive Regional Growth: Design and pioneer high-impact, innovative programming that captures the market and accelerates club registration.
- Lead the Digital Evolution: Revolutionize the club’s technical infrastructure by transitioning all traditional assets into a cutting-edge digital ecosystem.
Modern Elite Player & Coach Architecture
- Next-Gen Performance Analysis: Champion the delivery of Video Analysis, transforming raw VEO film into elite tactical masterclasses for players and staff.
- Digital Hub Mastery: Oversee and maximize the club's 360player management software, leveraging its comprehensive training library and advanced session planners.
- Year-Round Elite Pathways: Manage the Surf Academy, oversee competitive Surf team programming, and grassroots recreational infrastructure across distinct outdoor (April–October) and indoor (November–March) seasons.
- Coaching by Example: Not only regularly taking over team sessions to demonstrate proper coaching on the field, but the TD will act as the Head Coach for two Surf teams while we prepare/recruit another coach to assume those duties over time.
- Talent Identification: Lead player assessments, internal database creation, vertical player movement, and competitive team selection.
- Elite Mentorship: Serve as the chief mentor for our paid and volunteer coaches, supporting their growth through formal and informal tactical clinics.
- Coach Development: Ensure our volunteer coaches receive mentorship and training, and are supported in obtaining the required minimum BC Soccer coach certification.
The Ideal Candidate profile
We are looking for an inspiring tactical mind who commands respect on the pitch and possesses the organizational brilliance to lead off it.
- Proven Track Record: Solid experience acting as a club Technical Director or Technical Lead, with a demonstrated ability to develop players across the U5–U18 spectrum.
- Elite Credentials: Possess a minimum of a CSA National B License, CSA Youth License, or recognized international equivalent.
- On-Pitch Authority: Strong personal playing ability to fluidly demonstrate advanced technical skills during sessions.
- Culture Builder: Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills capable of aligning coaches, parents, and players behind a "player-first" development philosophy.
- Operational Requirements: Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for regional facility access, alongside a valid Criminal Record Check.
Pay: $70,000.00 per year
