Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our restaurant or hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and a solid background in food service and restaurant management. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety and quality standards, and maintaining a positive environment for both guests and team members. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, POS systems such as Micros POS, and hospitality management is highly valued.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality service
- Lead, motivate, and manage team members including interviewing, training, and performance evaluations
- Oversee food preparation, cooking processes, and food handling to meet safety standards and quality expectations
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately using POS systems like Micros POS
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all areas of the restaurant or food service environment
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain excellent customer service standards
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment of supplies
- Assist in restaurant management tasks such as scheduling staff shifts, maintaining operational procedures, and supporting marketing initiatives
- Uphold hospitality standards by creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and ensuring team members deliver exceptional service
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in food service or restaurant management roles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, and food safety protocols
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Background in food handling, serving, and restaurant operations within the food industry or hotel environment is preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, food industry standards, and restaurant experience is advantageous
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead by example in a team setting
