We are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager / Demand Planner to join our supply chain team as Gia Foods continues to grow across Canada. The ideal candidate will combine their formal education in supply chain management, logistics or business administration with proven experience with a regional or national brand. This candidate will be responsible for defining forecast demands and working across the organization to ensure optimal inventory levels of our ready to ship consumer packaged goods (CPGs)
Responsibilities
- Develop and revise demand forecasts combining statistical data, market insights and expanding vendor commitments.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust plans to avoid stockouts or excess product.
- Prepare reports on inventory levels, stock performance and inventory turnover at predictable intervals for strategic decision making.
- Provide regular reviews comparing forecasted demand to actual sales results for management review.
- Coordinate with existing supply chain partners to ensure timely procurement, scheduling and shipping of materials are aligned with demand forecasts.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing and manufacturing to incorporate additional products launched, temporary promotions and emerging changes in the marketplace.
- Identify & support lean manufacturing initiatives for process improvements across the organization.
- Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, internal initiatives, and regulatory changes affecting demand planning.
Experience:
- Proven experience in demand planning within a manufacturing or supply chain organization.
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems that include current stock, allocations, forecasts and purchasing schedules.
- Experience managing and growing Fishbowl is highly desired. Knowledge of supply chain & logistics best practices. Ideally in the consumer-packaged goods (CPGs) or food industry.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and present actionable items to a larger team.
- Efficient communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- A preference for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics or Business Administration combined with relevant experience.
