Responsibilities
- Repair and straighten vehicle bodies using specialized hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques to restore structural integrity.
- Prepare surfaces by sanding, grinding, and masking to ensure a smooth foundation for painting.
- Apply primer, paint, and clear coats with precision to achieve a high-quality finish that matches original specifications.
- Assess vehicle damage accurately and communicate repair plans effectively to team members and customers.
- Use mechanical knowledge to identify underlying issues that may affect body repairs or painting processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace following safety standards and dealership protocols.
- Assist with automotive repair tasks when needed, supporting overall vehicle restoration efforts.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or automotive repair background demonstrating hands-on expertise in body work and painting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and identify vehicle issues efficiently.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray guns used in auto body repair and painting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper posture and technique.
- Excellent attention to detail ensuring flawless paint finishes and precise body repairs.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and explaining work performed.
- Mechanic experience is a plus, providing a broader understanding of vehicle systems beyond bodywork.
