We are looking for an experienced Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead who takes pride in quality work, leads by example, and enjoys developing people while delivering exceptional results for clients.
Position Overview
The Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of maintenance services on a portfolio of residential properties.
This role leads a crew, manages site quality, ensures work is completed efficiently and safely, and serves as the primary on-site representative of Hyland Landscapes.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of motivating a team while maintaining high standards of workmanship and client service.
Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership
- Lead and support a landscape maintenance crew.
- Establish daily priorities and communicate expectations clearly.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper maintenance practices and company standards.
- Foster a positive, productive, and professional work environment.
- Lead by example through work ethic, attitude, and attention to detail.
Landscape Maintenance
- Perform and oversee all routine landscape maintenance services.
- Lawn mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing.
- Pruning, shearing, and plant care.
- Garden bed maintenance and weed management.
- Seasonal cleanups and property detailing.
- Monitor plant health and identify maintenance requirements proactively.
Quality Control
- Ensure all properties are maintained to company standards.
- Conduct site inspections and address deficiencies immediately.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail across all properties.
- Ensure equipment, vehicles, and trailers are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Client Service
- Represent Hyland Landscapes professionally on every property.
- Communicate effectively with clients when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve client properties and communicate recommendations to management.
- Help deliver a consistently exceptional client experience.
Safety
- Follow company safety policies and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Conduct daily safety discussions and hazard assessments.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment and tools.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of landscape maintenance experience.
- Minimum 1 year in a leadership or crew lead role.
- Strong knowledge of horticultural and landscape maintenance practices.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
Preferred
- Experience maintaining high-end residential properties.
- Horticulture certification or related education.
- Trailer towing experience.
- Occupational First Aid Certification.
- Experience training and developing team members.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
