As a Bartender, you are an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our Food & Beverage experience! Your role is incredibly important in the success & repeat business to the Conference Centre. Your primary responsibility is to support the Sales & Conference Manager in providing exemplary customer service to each and every guest. We are located in a small town, and word of mouth is the reason we are so successful. We want you to help us continue to grow!
As a part of our award-winning team at the Best Western Plus in Walkerton, your responsibility will be to:
· Assist with nurturing and maintaining an attention-to-detail oriented serving experience for banquet and meeting functions.
· Ensure that every guest feels cared for, valued and respected in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.
· Clear tables at the appropriate time, take tablecloths and linens to laundry, break down & put away table set up.
· Carry out tasks as assigned by your manager or supervisor that pertain to the overall operation of the banquet department.
· Willing to work weekends, holidays and shift work as scheduled. Holiday pay is applicable.
· Work directly with customers by mixing and serving drink orders.
· Bartending shifts and serving shift sometimes require late nights and long shifts (8-13 hours per shift).
· Provide a pleasant social experience to customers.
· Serve drinks while maintaining a clean and sanitary bar area.
· Prepare and maintain ingredients by following recipes, when required.
· Adhere to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
· Maintain appropriate labeling, dating and rotation of all beverage items.
· Ensure smooth operation of bar services during absence of supervisor.
Some skills that will be key to being successful in this role are:
· HIGH LEVEL ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS A REQUIREMENT.
· Fluency in English (written and verbal) is a requirement.
· Smart Serve Certificate is a requirement.
· Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm, respectful and courteous at all times.
· Teamwork approach to all duties and helpful attitude with co-workers.
· Previous experience in banquets/bartending at a hotel is preferred.
