You will provide strategic direction across platforms, products, and integrations, guiding enterprise level decisions that shape Humber’s digital future. How You Work Within Humber’s Product and Architecture Model
Humber operates within a product management model supported by a layered architecture approach. As the Enterprise Architect, you operate at the institutional level, ensuring alignment between strategic goals, business priorities, product delivery, and technology roadmaps, while driving the identification, assessment, and mitigation of digital risk across the institution.
You will partner with senior leadership to shape enterprise solutions and define product and technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, regulatory requirements, and long-term strategic direction. You will also collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Privacy teams to assess and manage digital risk, ensuring that architectural decisions support secure, compliant, and responsible use of technology.
In this role, you provide direction and alignment across the product and architecture ecosystem:
Business Product Owners (BPOs): who are responsible for defining business value, client needs, and desired outcomes. You provide strategic direction to ensure these outcomes are supported by scalable, sustainable, and enterprise-aligned capabilities.
Technology Product Owners (TPOs): who are responsible for delivery execution, backlog management, and platform integrity. You guide and govern architectural direction to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and long-term strategy.
Applications and Solution Architects: who design and implement platform-specific solutions. You establish architectural standards, provide decision frameworks, and ensure consistency across all implementations within the enterprise landscape.
In this model, you are accountable for setting up enterprise architectural direction, enabling informed decision-making, and ensuring that all product and platform-level work contribute to a cohesive, scalable, risk-aware, and future-ready digital ecosystem.
Ensure technology investments and platform decisions are aligned with enterprise priorities, maximizing value, long term sustainability, scalability, and resilience of the enterprise technology landscape.
Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, assessing their impact, value, and risk within the institutional context.
Ensure alignment and coherence across the enterprise technology landscape, including academic systems, administrative platforms, CRM, identity, data, and integration layers.
Identify, assess, and communicate enterprise level risks related to technology, architecture, data, and security, enabling informed decision making at the leadership level.
Drive cross-portfolio alignment by working with senior leadership, Product Owners, Architects, and technical leaders to manage dependencies and ensure cohesive solution design.
Participate in and contribute to enterprise governance forums, both internally and externally, providing architectural insight and recommendations for strategic initiatives, including engagement with communities such as EDUCAUSE, ITANA, and other relevant higher education and enterprise architecture networks.
