4 Mile Brewpub & Restaurant is a historic Victoria landmark, combining the charm of an old English Inn with a modern craft brewery and restaurant. We are looking for a highly motivated, organized, and energetic individual to join our team as a Busser / Expeditor . This crucial hybrid role ensures a seamless flow of service between the kitchen and the dining room while maintaining a spotless and welcoming environment for our guests.
The Busser / Expeditor acts as the vital link between the kitchen and the Front of House team. You will be responsible for the final quality check and delivery of all food orders and for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and efficient turnover of dining tables and service areas. This fast-paced role requires excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong teamwork ethic.

Quality Control: Act as the final line of defense by inspecting all dishes at the pass to ensure they match the ticket, meet presentation standards, and are served at the correct temperature.

Communication Hub: Maintain clear, constant communication between the kitchen and servers, relaying information about food status, special requests, modifications, and any menu items that are temporarily out of stock.

Order Management & Running Food: Organize completed plates according to table number and efficiently run food from the kitchen to the correct guest promptly and accurately.

Pass Organization: Keep the kitchen pass and surrounding area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary garnishes, sauces, and small wares.

Table Turnover: Quickly and efficiently clear, clean, and reset dining tables to company standards, preparing them for the next guests. This includes removing soiled dishes, wiping down surfaces, and setting cutlery, napkins, and glassware.

Server Support: Actively pre-bus tables, refill water glasses, and assist servers by promptly responding to minor guest requests.

Cleanliness & Maintenance: Proactively monitor and maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the dining room, restrooms, patio, and service stations throughout the shift.

Dish Support: Organize and transport dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils to the dishwashing area, assisting the dishwasher with scraping and stacking as needed.

Restocking: Keep service stations fully stocked with ice, glassware, dishware, flatware, condiments, and necessary supplies.

Experience: Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant, particularly in a busser, food runner, or expeditor role, is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Communication: Exceptional verbal communication skills; must be able to speak clearly and confidently with both kitchen and serving staff during high-pressure situations.

Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to spot plating errors or cleanliness issues instantly.

Teamwork: A strong team player with a positive, professional, and friendly attitude.

Pace & Stamina: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment, stand for extended periods, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (e.g., trays of dishes, cases of product).
