Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant/PHLEBOTOMIST to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical or dental office environment. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic health records, and ensuring smooth office operations. Prior experience with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Dentrix is highly preferred. The Medical Office Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for patients and will play a vital role in delivering excellent patient care and administrative efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures at the front desk
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently
- Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using systems like Epic or Dentrix
- Verify insurance information and process billing as needed
- Collect patient information, update medical histories, and ensure data accuracy
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, faxing, and data entry
- Support clinical staff with basic administrative duties to facilitate smooth operations
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy policies
- Take blood samples and assist doctors in procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant/Phlebotomist is highly desirable
- Proficiency with Accuro Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, including front desk or administrative roles in medical or dental offices
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Office experience that demonstrates multitasking capabilities in a busy environment
- Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor to interact effectively with patients and staff
- Prior experience working with Accuro systems and performing phlebotomy in Canada is preferred
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
