Position Summary
The manufacturing technician assists machine operators in the fabrication of natural and engineered stone countertops. This position is responsible for preparing materials, supporting production equipment, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators with daily production activities.
- Load and unload stone slabs onto fabrication equipment using approved handling methods.
- Prepare materials for machining by verifying job information and ensuring proper orientation.
- Remove completed pieces from machinery and transport them safely to the next production stage.
- Inspect material for visible defects, chips, cracks, or damage before and after machining.
- Clean machines and workstations throughout the day.
- Assist with changing tooling and consumables as directed.
- Keep production areas organized and free of debris.
- Support inventory movement and material handling as required.
- Follow production schedules and supervisor instructions.
- Report equipment issues, damaged material, or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with general shop duties when production demands require.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or construction experience is considered an asset.
- Experience in the stone industry is an asset but not required.
- Willingness to learn fabrication equipment and production processes.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.

- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to work in a dusty and noisy manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely handle stone products using lifting devices and team lifting techniques.
