This position synchronizes and facilitates the flow of work and materials between and within SeedMaster’s departments. Procurement of various goods and services required for the manufacturing of SeedMaster products within established standards following corporate purchasing policies.
Key accountabilities include:
- Analyze systematic supply and demand to ensure timely delivery of products that align with production needs. Request date changes from suppliers and update PO’s as required.
- Prepare purchase orders for manufacturing and engineering needs.
- Prepare purchase orders and streamline ordering process for consumable and MRO items.
- Generate open purchase order report(s) and follow up with vendors regarding expected time of arrival and update PO’s as required.
- Create and share forecasts with suppliers on a quarterly basis.
- Communicate cost or term changes from vendors to the supply chain manager.
- Identify potential suppliers and/or optimization of the supply chain and discuss with manager.
- With direction from the manager, quote and negotiate prices with current and potential suppliers.
- Ensure the ERP system has accurate part and vendor information and update if necessary.
- Initiate cycle counts and coordinate removal of obsolete inventory.
- Grow professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide suggestions and innovative ways to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Meeting and collaborating with management to assess reliability of suppliers and vendors, and to identify solutions for ongoing problems.
- Work with accounting to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proficient understanding of materials and services procurement.
