The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Marketing & Communications, the Digital & Brand Content Creator plays a key role in the planning, creation, and execution of digital and written content across the organization. This position is responsible for developing engaging, on-brand content for social media, newsletters, blogs, and media communications, while ensuring a consistent and compelling voice across all platforms.
The Digital & Brand Content Creator will contribute to strengthening the organization’s brand presence by capturing and sharing meaningful stories, promoting programs and services, and supporting communications initiatives. This role is also responsible for tracking content performance, monitoring engagement, and preparing basic reports to inform and improve future communications strategies. This position offers the opportunity to creatively engage with the community while gaining valuable experience in content development, storytelling, and digital communications within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and publish engaging content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Capture and produce photo, video, live and graphic content to support storytelling and brand promotion
- Write and manage social media captions, newsletters, blog posts, and media releases
- Engage with online audiences by monitoring comments, messages, and interactions in a timely manner
- Maintain and update a content calendar aligned with campaigns, events, and organizational priorities
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather stories, updates, and content from programs and services
- Ensure consistent brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all digital platforms
- Track, analyze, and report on social media and content performance to inform future strategies
- Support marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives as needed
Skills and qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or communications
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms
- Experience creating content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., HeyOrca, Meta Business Suit, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and gather content from multiple stakeholders
- Understanding of branding, digital engagement, and best practices in social media communications
- Proficiency with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design platforms (asset, but not required)
- Experience capturing and editing basic photo and video content for digital use (asset, but not required)
