Overview
We are looking for a full-time barista that is available to work a mix of weekdays and weekends throughout the summer AND school year (non-negotiable), approximately 30-40hrs per week depending on availability.
Coffee shop experience desirable but not required for this position. Super fun and fast paced environment with a friendly team. Staff are scheduled for shifts between 6:30am and 5:30pm, no late evenings required!
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to Bean Scene recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any questions or concerns
- Handle food preparation tasks such as serving food items, maintaining cleanliness of workstations, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Manage cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including cleaning equipment and dishes regularly
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation
- Assist with serving food items when necessary and ensure timely delivery of orders to customers
- Demonstrate effective time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy periods efficiently
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Strong customer service skills with an approachable demeanor
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing transactions accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management abilities to prioritize tasks during peak hours
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
Pay: $17.85 per hour
