Saw Operator – Temporary to Permanent
About Our Client
Our client is a steel supplier, specializing in stainless and nickel. They are looking for hardworking, strong individuals who are committed to customer satisfaction and getting orders correct for their customers and out on time!
What You Will Be Doing, as a Saw Operator:
· Review processing order and locate material in warehouse
· Cut material(s) according to specifications outlined on processing order using band saws
· Accurately identify and label cut piece(s) with imperative information
· Inspect finished cuts and remove burrs to ensure product quality and safety
· Safely package completed orders for transport or customer pick-up and place in correct outgoing order location based on item size
· Fill out processing order paperwork with material work order and heat numbers
· Applying correct paint color coding
· Returning material to the appropriate storage location based on size/length
· Cleaning and disposing of metal shavings
· Sorting/organizing scrap materials and cutting banding
· Assist with general shop duties and support team operations as needed
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What You Should Have, as a Saw Operator:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong reading comprehension
· Basic knowledge of steel and various metal types
· Ability to accurately read a tape measure
· Experience safely operating power tools (band saw experience preferred)
· Sit Down Counterbalance Forklift License or willingness to obtain
· Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as a part of a team
· Preference given to those with a G License
· Must be comfortable with lifting 50 lbs – this is VERY heavy.
· Must be fluent in the English language
· CSA Steel toed boots with metatarsal guards
In Return, You Will Receive:
· $22.00 per hour
· Paid weekly, every Friday (one week behind)
· Opportunity for permanent hire
· 4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out when you need it
The Shift You Will Be Working is:
· Monday to Friday
· 8:00am to 5:00pm
Where You Will Be Working, as a Saw Operator:
· Oakville, ON
· Third Line area
