Founding Engineer (Quantitative Developer)

SharpeEdge Capital is an alternative investment firm specializing in crypto assets and fiat currencies. We deploy systematic strategies based on quantitative modeling and macroeconomic economic analysis to deliver superior risk adjusted returns in all market conditions.
The team is looking for a skilled founding engineer to help develop, maintain and optimize our infrastructure and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain multi-asset trading systems (FX, cryptocurrencies) including execution algorithms, Machine learning/Econometric models and data ingestion piplelines.
- Identify vulnerabilities in codebase and make it more efficient, translate algorithms to faster programming languages (C, Java,…).
- Build risk and portfolio analytics tool.
- Develop scripts for Backtesting and simulations.
- Automate manual processes.
Prefered Qualifications
The list below is non-exhaustive (satisfying 3 of the requirements would be enough). We’re looking for people with strong computer science/software engineering background who are willing to learn what they lack.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or PHD in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Operations Research, or a related STEM field.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, low-level programming, and optimization for speed and memory efficiency.
- At least 1 year of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python (including data analysis and ML libraries like NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow), C and SQL. familiarity with Java, .NET, Rust, Go, or Solidity is a plus.
- Familiarity with algorithmic trading platforms:Quantconnect, Ninjascript, vectorbt, …
- Experience with time-series databases (e.g., kdb+, InfluxDB), streaming data systems (e.g., Kafka), and big data handling.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with GPU computing, FPGAs, high-performance computing.
- Familiarity with security practices (e.g., encryption, audit trails, cryptography for crypto).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, take ownership, iterate on solutions, and thrive under pressure with long hours and high stakes.
Pay: $1.00-$2.00 per year
