Job Summary
PokeAye Vancouver is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated staff members to join our team. As part of our restaurant, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and sanitation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, vibrant environment focused on fresh, healthy poke bowls. Ideal candidates are passionate about the food industry, possess excellent time management skills, and enjoy working with customers. Mandarin is preferred but not required. All positions are paid, including internships, and provide valuable experience in the food service sector.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble poke bowls according to company recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to ensure a positive dining experience
- Manage food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Handle cashier duties, including processing payments accurately and upselling menu items
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen areas, and dining spaces in compliance with health regulations
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Support team members during busy hours by managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Uphold restaurant policies related to food handling, safety, and sanitation standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or restaurant environments is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Good time management skills to handle high-volume periods effectively
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience or food industry background is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
