As a Client Engagement Specialist for the EmployNext program, you will serve as a key point of contact for jobseekers, delivering a high-quality client experience and building meaningful connections across Serco’s service areas in a remote environment. You will actively engage clients through personalized interactions, guiding them along their employment journey with tailored, responsive support to achieve positive employment outcomes.
You will be responsible for conducting employment assessments, delivering client-centered coaching, and coordinating referrals to employment service providers and community partners. You will also provide light-touch services to individuals who prefer remote assistance, ensuring clients receive timely, effective support that drives positive employment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Conduct comprehensive employment assessments to identify jobseekers’ skills, strengths, and employment goals.

Provide remote job coaching and support to help jobseekers navigate the job search process effectively.

Offer referrals to employment service providers and community partners based on individual needs and preferences.

Assist jobseekers in developing resumes, cover letters, and other job search materials tailored to their desired roles.

Facilitate job search activities, including job matching, application submissions, and interview preparation.

Support jobseekers in using digital service delivery tools.

Identify opportunities for skills development and training programs, and provide appropriate referrals.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of jobseeker interactions and progress in designated systems.

Stay informed about industry trends, labour market information, and available resources.

Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations governing employment services.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

Previous experience in employment counselling, job coaching, career development, or a related field (preferred).

Strong understanding of the Ontario labour market, employment services landscape, and available resources for jobseekers.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate clients remotely.

Proficiency in remote communication tools such as video conferencing, email, and phone.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced remote environment.

A client-centered, empathetic approach to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.
Additional Qualifications

Demonstrated understanding of Employment Ontario programs and the employability sector.

Knowledge of social service sector and key local organizations supporting specialized populations (Indigenous peoples, youth, Francophone communities, persons with disabilities, newcomers, and Black and racialized communities).

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel, as required.

Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (CPIC).

Proficiency in additional languages such as French, Cree, or Ojibwa.
