Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including examinations, cleanings, restorations, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and necessary supplies to ensure seamless patient care
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accuracy and patient safety
- Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Cleardent, including charting and treatment documentation
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization standards in compliance with OSHA regulations
Skills
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry to comfortably support young patients during visits
- Skilled in dental assisting techniques including taking impressions and handling dental equipment
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and sterilization procedures
- Excellent communication skills to serve as a friendly liaison between patients and the dental team
