Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a key member of our Tasting Lounge management team, the Sous Chef will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and support the Head Chef. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional to demonstrate their expertise in a fast-paced hospitality environment while contributing to an outstanding dining experience for our guests
Duties
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet established standards of quality and consistency
- Manage food handling procedures in compliance with safety and sanitation regulations
- Support the development and implementation of menu items, recipes, and plating techniques
- Ensure proper food safety practices are followed at all times, including storage, temperature control, and hygiene protocols
- Coordinate with Tasting Lounge management to ensure smooth service during shifts
- Lead by example with professionalism
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety standards, and customer service expectations
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Demonstrated team management skills within a busy kitchen environment
- Experience with restaurant management tasks such as inventory control and staff training
- Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
- Previous restaurant experience in a leadership role is highly desirable
- Background in the food industry with a focus on hospitality and customer service excellence
- Leadership qualities combined with excellent communication skills to motivate team members and ensure smooth kitchen operations
