We are seeking a reliable, dedicated, and enthusiastic Dog Walker to join our growing team. This role involves providing structured, safe, and enriching walks while ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of every dog in our care. This position is best suited for someone with hands-on dog experience who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in professionalism and responsibility.
Availability Requirement
- Must be available Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Consistent weekday availability is essential for this role
- Seasonally more hours may be offered
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable, insured vehicle (mandatory)
- Previous experience working with dogs in a professional or structured setting
- Comfortable handling multiple dogs and managing group dynamics
- Willingness to obtain Pet First Aid certification (or already certified)
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Public transit is not a viable option for this position
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time (2–4+ hours daily)
- Ability to lift and manage dogs and equipment as needed
- Comfortable navigating uneven terrain, trails, and urban environments
- Physically capable of handling strong or high-energy dogs safely
Responsibilities
- Safely walk dogs in a variety of weather conditions, providing both physical exercise and mental stimulation
- Maintain constant awareness of surroundings and proactively manage potential hazards
- Observe and report any health, behavioral, or temperament changes
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding their dogs
- Build and maintain positive client relationships through excellent customer service
- Follow individual dog routines, handling protocols, and guidelines
- Maintain accurate records and daily notes
- Clean up after dogs and help maintain a respectful, tidy environment
