Job duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform mechanical repairs on commercial vehicles heavy equipment in the field
· Ability to work remotely
· Having the ability to perform remote and in-person diagnostics, with the ability to perform the most efficient and timely repairs
· Perform incidental welding operations on trucks and equipment
· Repair cable/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic working attachments, winches, compressors, pumps, generators, etc
· Perform post repair testing of trucks and equipment for proper performance
· Adhere to all federal, provincial and company workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
· Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting
· Demonstrate continuous improvements to all field service operations, decrease truck and equipment down-time, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service
· Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
· Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
· All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Self-starter and self-managing, able to consistently source and schedule work
· Fully qualified Truck and Coach Journeyperson with Interprovincial Red Seal Ticket or equivalent preferred.
· 4+ years of experience
· Mechanically and electrically inclined, with sound knowledge of hydraulic systems
· Impeccable Safety awareness
· Possess a valid driver’s class G license (minimum) with a recent clean drivers abstract
· Proven abilities in reading and understanding mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics
· Ability to work independently and unsupervised in inclement weather and remote locations in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience maintaining service work orders with good attention to detail
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
· Able to work well under pressure, while remaining a team player
· Weight handling up to 80lb, required.
Summary
As a Truck and Coach/Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various heavy equipment and vehicles in the field. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will utilize your mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with power tools and heavy equipment operation to perform maintenance and repairs. Your expertise in reviewing schematics of power systems, along with a Class G Licence and Red Seal certification, will ensure high-quality service. Additionally, your customer service skills will enhance client relationships, making you an essential part of our team dedicated to excellence in the field.
