1) 60 hour bi weekly -community Inclusion -Monday - friday day shift
2)36 hours bi weekly-community Inclusion -wednesday- Friday day shift
3) 70 hours bi -weekly-Community housing-aytime & afternoon shifts (Friday – Tuesday) rotating schedule
4) Casual
Summary:
Supports individuals living in residential and semi-independent settings to achieve their greatest degree of independence and quality of life. Ensure that individuals physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and recreational and health needs are met.
Qualifications:
- · Certificate in human services or related field
- · 1 year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- · Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
- · Strong demonstrated knowledge of supporting individuals to achieve social and emotional goals and objectives while encouraging independence
- · Non-violent crisis intervention or Mandt training is considered an asset
- · Food Safety
- · TB Test
- · Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English
- · Class 4 Unrestricted or Restricted Driver’s License required with a positive Drivers Abstract
- · Valid First Aid Certificate

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- · Participates in the assessment, goal setting and program planning for individuals. Documents, implements and provides input into the evaluation of the service plans.
- · Participates in the implementation of health care plans,
- behavior management plans, administering medications and implementing health care procedures as directed by the physician, health nurse or other consulting professionals.
- · Is responsible for all program documentation required such as incident reports and daily tracking
- · Fosters and promotes family and personal relationships and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
- · Recognizes potential emergency situations and follows strategies to deal with them. Ensures the safety and well-being of individuals, staff and the community.
- · Participates in training and meetings. Assists in orientation of new staff, volunteers and practicum students.
- · Fosters positive working relationships with other team members, using conflict resolution techniques.
- · Ensure health and safety standards are maintained and that all work areas are maintained in a tidy and orderly manner.
- · Understands the policies and practices of the MSA Society and acts in a manner that promotes these policies.
- · Develops and implements communication, behavioral and crisis intervention plans
- · Transport and assists individuals to appointments, social and recreational activities seeking activities that are meaningful to the individual’s preferences, cultural habits and needs.
- · Promotes independence and opportunities for personal choice, decision making and self-determination.
- · Performs other duties as required
