We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and shipment of materials within our facility. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, experience with forklift operation, and familiarity with warehouse management systems. The Material Handler plays a critical part in ensuring smooth warehouse distribution, accurate order picking, and timely shipping & receiving processes. Prior warehouse experience and the ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and order pickers are highly valued.
Location: Vaughan, ON (Weston & Steeles)
Hours: 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: from $22.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials using reach and order picker forklifts.
- Manage inventory by accurately picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and order status
- Maintain safety standards during heavy lifting and heavy equipment operation
- Assist in shipping & receiving activities to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs
- Support construction or warehouse setup projects as needed
- Ensure proper storage of materials to optimize space utilization and accessibility
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse procedures
Experience
- Minimum three years experience in warehouse distribution or management systems.
- Valid licenses for reach and order picker forklifts, as well as fall arrest training.
- Hands-on experience with order picking, load & unload activities, and shipping & receiving processes.
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards and procedures
Candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
