Who We Are
Scoop Squad is Cape Breton's premier pet waste removal service. We handle everything behind the scenes — scheduling, billing, customer service, and routing — so our technicians can focus on one thing: showing up and doing great work.
We're expanding and need one reliable, self-motivated person to take over our established residential routes in the North Sydney and Mira areas on a consistent weekly schedule.
What the Job Looks Like
You'll service a set list of residential clients each week on the same day. You use our app to navigate your route, check off stops as you go, and flag anything unusual back to us. All routes are pre-built, all clients are already signed up, and all tools are provided. You're stepping into a running operation — not building one from scratch.
A typical route takes 3–5 hours and you choose your own start time within the service window. The work is physical, outdoors, and independent — ideal if you prefer working on your own terms without someone looking over your shoulder.
What You'll Earn
- $6.00 per yard serviced — one of the highest rates for this type of work in Cape Breton
- $0.50/km fuel reimbursement for all mileage driven between client stops on your route
- A typical full route = $90–$130 in yard pay + fuel reimbursement on top
- $150 retention bonus after 90 days of consistent service + a rate review
- Consistent weekly income — same clients, same routes, same pay every week
- Routes are actively growing — more clients means more yards, more earnings
Pay is bi-weekly via e-transfer. You invoice, we pay — no waiting, no chasing.
What You Need
- Valid Nova Scotia driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle (truck, SUV, van, or car) with a 2" receiver hitch — or willing to have one installed before your start date
- Smartphone (iOS or Android) for the Jobber route app
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Consistent availability on the same day each week — our clients count on it
All tools and equipment are provided. A hitch-mount cargo carrier will be supplied by Scoop Squad to carry tools and waste containers between your stops — no trailer required.
What You Don't Need
- Any prior experience — full training and a detailed route packet are provided
- A trailer — the hitch carrier handles everything
- Customer-facing skills — we handle all client communication
This Role Is Right For You If:
- You like working outside and moving around all day
- You take pride in doing a simple job really well
- You want predictable weekly income on a flexible schedule
- You're reliable — you show up when you say you will, every single time
This Role Is Not Right For You If:
- You need constant supervision to stay motivated
- Consistency and punctuality aren't your strong suits
- You're looking for indoor or desk work
