Job Summary
The Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Specialty Pharma Supervisor and/or Nurse Manager with a dotted line to the Program Manager, delivers and monitors specialized injectable treatments in a clinic setting. The Registered Nurse is responsible for monitoring patients for injection-related reactions, documenting procedures accurately, and maintaining timely reporting.
This role is unique to the ViiV Long Acting Injectables Program and supports patients prescribed Apretude. Responsibilities include administering injections and performing blood draws (laboratory specimen collection). The role operates within a third-party clinic environment and aligns work hours with patient and clinic requirements.
Duties and responsibilities

Conduct patient health assessments and medication education.

Prepare and administer Apretude.

Provide laboratory draw services, including blood collection and additional tests as directed by the prescriber.

Deliver patient care through observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, health teaching, and adverse event reporting.

Perform routine nursing duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and provincial standards.

Provide patient-centered care according to established care plans or medical directives.

Perform specialized nursing procedures for which appropriate training and competencies have been demonstrated and maintained.

Maintain required role-related, medication, and pharmacovigilance training.

Observe and document patient conditions.

Ensure timely and compliant reporting of Adverse Events (AEs) and Product Quality Complaints (PQCs) in accordance with Health Canada pharmacovigilance requirements.
