Overview
Boots On Ground Field Services is looking for a motivated Forest Technician to join our team for field operations across Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
This is a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation with a primary focus on block layout. Extensive travel, backcountry hiking, and the ability to work independently in remote boreal environments are required. Other field opportunities may arise depending on project needs.
Responsibilities
- Cutblock and road layout
- Support environmental and sustainable forestry management certification systems
- Participate in forestry training program development for First Nations communities
- Maintain positive relations with company departments and contractors
- Participate in and uphold the company safety management system
- Proper care and maintenance of all assigned equipment
Skills
- Grade 12 diploma required
- Education in Forestry or related field an asset
- University degree or technical diploma in Forestry considered an asset
- Valid driver's license with no restrictions
- Proven commitment to safety
- Strong social, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Direct industry experience not required — motivation to learn valued
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
