About the Job:
Activo is looking for Intermediate Cabling Technicians in the Richmond, BC area. Successful candidates will have proven experience installing, terminating and testing a variety of copper and fiber optic cabling types. All Technicians must be willing to be able work days, evenings, weekends and travel as required based on the various projects at the time.
Experience: We are looking for technicians who are experienced in cable installation (Cat5e, Cat6), network termination, security systems, paging systems, telephony, AV, Cisco equipment, CCTV, and, Fiber splicing & terminations. Knowledge in all of these areas would be an asset but not mandatory.
Additional Skills: Read blueprints; Work at heights or in confined spaces; Complete and maintain test and service records . Security and Safety. Criminal record check; Driver's validity license check .
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools; Steel-toed safety boots; Hard hat; Safety glasses/goggles .
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment; Tight deadlines; Physically demanding; Attention to detail; Ability to distinguish between colours; Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Bending, crouching, kneeling. This position may include long or irregular hours, and some travel required.
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's license; Own transportation; Willingness to travel.
