Summary
OurGeneral Labourer performs physically demanding, manual tasks to support our technical support group and maintenance projects. Key duties include loading/unloading materials, cleaning job sites, operating hand/power tools, and assisting skilled tradespeople. They must be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of heavy lifting in various weather conditions.
- Site Maintenance: Cleaning work areas, removing debris, and setting up/taking down temporary work areas.
- Material Handling: Loading, unloading, moving, and stacking materials (e.g., lumber, cement) by hand or using machinery like forklifts.
- Assisting Trades: Supporting technicians with tasks like moving or assembling driving simulators, holding materials, and passing tools.
- Site Preparation: Digging trenches, backfilling holes, and compacting earth using shovels or power tools.
- Equipment Operation: Using hand tools (hammers, saws) and light equipment ( i.e. drills).
- Safety Compliance: Following all health and safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)when required. Indeed +5
Requirements
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, and carry heavy items (often 50+ lbs) for short periods.
- Endurance: Ability to work on feet for long shifts, often in extreme weather conditions (cold or heat).
- Reliability: Punctuality and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Experience/Education: High school diploma is preferred
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract and 5 years experience is required.
- Forklift licence is an asset.
