Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Farm Labourer to join our team at Sacred Earth Eco-Farm. In this role, you will contribute to our mission of organic farming by assisting with daily farm operations and maintaining our eco-friendly practices. We are a small team support one another to get "stuff" done.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, watering, and harvesting crops using eco-friendly methods.
- Operate hand tools and simple mechanical equipment safely.
- Transplanting, harvesting, weeding and bed flipping.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the farm environment.
- Help with general farm maintenance and outdoor tasks.
- Follow safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Contribute to the farm's efforts to promote organic agriculture a good team atmosphere.
- Qualifications:
- Experience with other outdoor jobs or farming preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting.
- Knowledge of hand tools is a plus.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating quantities and weights.
- A passion for organic agriculture and care for providing a service to the community.
- Reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn.
- Previous farm work experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Must live in or around Salmon Arm.
