Our client is a large North American automotive manufacturer with over 1,000 employees across Canada and the U.S. They are looking to bring on an experienced finance leader to support the business through a critical reporting and operational period while providing additional support across finance and plant operations.
Principal tasks and responsibilities include:

Lead monthly close, quarter-end, and year-end financial processes for Canadian and U.S. entities

Oversee consolidated reporting, balance sheet reviews, and preparation of financial statements

Act as the primary liaison for external auditors and support year-end audit deliverables

Manage forecasting activities, cash flow planning, and financial performance reporting

Support Canadian and U.S. tax compliance activities and assist with intercompany reporting requirements

Maintain oversight of treasury activities, banking relationships, and payment approvals

Provide financial support related to inventory, standard costing, and operational spending analysis

Partner closely with plant operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to support business objectives

Review and support journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and other hands-on accounting activities as required

Assist with process improvement initiatives focused on reporting efficiency and internal controls

Coordinate with finance teams across Canada and the U.S. to ensure timely completion of group deliverables

Support the business through a high-volume reporting and operational period with shifting priorities

Qualifications and pre-requisites: -
CPA designation preferred

Strong experience supporting Canadian and U.S. finance operations

Prior experience leading year-end close and external audit processes

Manufacturing or automotive industry experience strongly preferred

Hands-on experience with financial reporting, inventory, costing, forecasting, month-end, and year-end close

Strong systems experience including ERP platforms and advanced Excel

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple moving pieces and minimal ramp-up time

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally

Must be committed to the full contract term due to the critical timing of the engagement
Additional information or perks: -
Pay: $125-$150/hour based on experience

Candidate should be available to start within the next 2 weeks

Additional hours may be required during peak periods, particularly around year-end
-
Role requires onsite presence in Windsor based on business needs
