Job Title: Electro Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
The Electro Maintenance Mechanic maintains production efficiency and product quality by ensuring the reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in a plastics manufacturing environment. This role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance for engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and related automation equipment, using technical documentation, precision instruments, and established procedures to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
Responsibilities

Ensure continuous operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions by observing equipment in operation, listening for irregularities, and using precision measuring and testing instruments to identify root causes of problems.

Remove defective parts by safely dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and inspect the form and texture of parts to determine wear, damage, or failure.

Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used components and using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify specifications.

Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges to restore proper operation and alignment.

Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques, providing guidance, and monitoring compliance with maintenance practices.

Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment to support timely and effective equipment repairs.

Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of materials.

Use maintenance resources efficiently by operating equipment and consuming supplies only as needed to achieve required job results.

Provide mechanical maintenance information by responding to questions and requests from colleagues and other departments.

Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and entering relevant data into maintenance systems.

Safely adjust molding machine operational parameters to support consistent and efficient production.
-
Repair end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) for robotic and automated equipment to ensure proper handling and processing of parts.

Locate the root cause of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related problems and implement effective corrective actions.
-
Convey technical information clearly through written documents, typed notes, and drawings to support communication and documentation requirements.

Read and follow mechanical and electrical drawings, including schematics and blueprints, to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.

Install electrical conduit, copper piping, PVC piping, and wiring in accordance with applicable standards and equipment requirements.

Use a voltage/ohm meter to test electrical circuits, components, and systems safely and accurately.

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks and enter all completed work into the computer-based maintenance management system (CMMS).

Look up and identify parts using catalogs and machine manuals to support accurate ordering and timely repairs.
-
Communicate effectively over the phone with machine service personnel and vendors to coordinate troubleshooting and service support.
-
Measure components and assemblies accurately using appropriate measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
-
Support industrial automation systems, including PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, and injection molding automation, through programming, troubleshooting, and integration support.

Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to diagnose issues and support electrical design and machine building activities.

Contribute to machine building and process optimization efforts by applying electrical and mechanical knowledge to improve equipment performance and reliability.

Perform other duties as assigned to support maintenance, production, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills-
2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

High School Diploma or GED.

Demonstrated ability to perform equipment maintenance on production machinery, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and related equipment.

Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
-
Proficiency in preventive and predictive maintenance practices, including scheduling, execution, and documentation.
-
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting for industrial automation systems.
-
Experience with robotics integration and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) support.
-
Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including use of voltage/ohm meters and other test instruments.
-
Ability to support injection molding equipment and associated automation systems.
-
Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
-
Experience using CMMS systems and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation.

Skill in installing conduit, wiring, copper piping, and PVC piping in an industrial setting.

Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and conveyor systems.

Ability to fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.

Competence in blueprint reading and basic electrical design concepts.

Proficiency in using hand and power tools, hoists, cranes, and precision measuring instruments such as rules, calipers, and micrometers.
