Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Chicken Catcher to join our poultry catching team. This role involves physically demanding work focused on the safe and efficient handling of chickens during processing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with farm machinery and mechanical knowledge is a plus, but training will be provided for specific tasks. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a vital part of our operations while developing skills in farm management and equipment handling.
Responsibilities
- Safely catch and handle chickens in accordance with animal welfare standards
- Operate farm machinery and equipment related to chicken catching processes
- Assist in loading chickens onto transport vehicles efficiently and humanely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of protective gear during handling and machinery operation
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines
- Perform routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or malfunctions
Experience
- Prior experience working on farms or with farm machinery is preferred but not required
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly, often lifting loads over 50 pounds
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong physical stamina, endurance, and attention to safety protocols are essential for success in this role
- Willingness to learn new skills related to poultry handling and farm machinery operation
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
