Archival Digitization Technician
Job Summary
Consentia Pacific provides document and data management services, including document digitization, records management, imaging, and information management solutions. We are currently seeking detail-oriented Digitization Technicians to support the digitization and preservation of historically significant records.
This position involves working with archival materials of varying ages, conditions, and formats using specialized scanning equipment and established quality assurance procedures. Successful candidates will play an important role in preserving records while producing high-quality digital images that meet client specifications.
Due to the confidential nature of our work, successful candidates will be required to pass a background security check.
Responsibilities and Duties
Some of the duties are as follows:
- Document Preparation: Prepare archival materials for digitization by assessing document condition and managing inserts and fold-outs
- Archival Document Handling: Handle fragile, bound, oversized, and historically significant records using approved handling techniques designed to protect the integrity of the original materials during preparation, scanning, and repackaging.
- Book Scanning: Operate specialized book scanning equipment, including overhead book scanners and cradle-based scanning systems and handling requirements of each record.
- Large Format Scanning: Operate large-format scanning equipment to digitize oversized documents, plans, fold-outs, and other non-standard materials
- Digital Scanning: Operate production scanning equipment to capture high-quality digital images in accordance with project specifications
- Quality Assurance: Review scanned images for completeness, legibility, orientation, cropping, image quality, and consistency.
- Metadata & Indexing: Capture, verify, and apply metadata and indexing information in accordance with client requirements.
- Production Support: Assist with production tracking, workflow management, document packaging, secure handling procedures, and other production activities as required.
Qualifications and Skills
This position requires exceptional attention to detail, patience, and the ability to work carefully with sensitive and historically significant records. Strong computer skills are required for operating specialized scanning equipment and associated software.

- Excellent reading and comprehension skills in English.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to identify image quality issues and perform quality assurance reviews.

- Strong communication skills and willingness to receive feedback.
- Commitment to confidentiality and secure document handling.
- Willingness to learn multiple production processes, with cross-training considered an essential part of the role.
Experience working with document preparation, digitization, archival materials, records management, libraries, museums, or similar environments would be considered an asset; however, full training will be provided.
Pay: $18.25-$19.25 per hour
