Reporting directly to the General Manager, the QC Technician will be responsible for ensuring product quality and food safety standards are maintained at various unloading locations. This position is primarily field-based and requires regular travel to locations outside the company's main office.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections and verification activities at various unloading facilities.
- Inspect fresh and frozen seafood products at various vendor locations.
- Work directly with customers and business partners to provide quality-related support and assistance as required.
- Verify that products meet company quality specifications, food safety requirements, and customer expectations.
- Document inspection findings and report quality concerns to management.
- Monitor compliance with established food safety and quality assurance programs.
- Assist with investigations of product quality issues and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in the seafood processing industry required.
- Knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Assurance practices.
- Knowledge of regulatory and quality system requirements- HACCP, Good Manufacturing Process (GMP).
- Ability to work flexible hours, to work alone or with a minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure, challenging environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and part of a collaborative team.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
