Summary
The Sr Reservoir Engineer is responsible for providing professional geological reservoir technical advisory services and solutions to clients, helping them optimize business processes and maximize the effectiveness of technology implementation. Bringing strong knowledge of assets, regulatory frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration to support value-driven exploration and development.
Responsibilities:
- Understand client technical challenges to provide professional geological reservoir consultancy and solution design.
- Assist clients with system planning, product selection, and implementation to ensure solutions meet actual needs.
- Provide technical training, guidance, and ongoing support to enable clients to use company products and solutions effectively.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues encountered by clients and propose practical improvement plans.
- Collect client requirements and industry insights to provide technical perspectives for market and product development.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to deliver technical proposals, demonstrations, and support solution adoption.
- Represent the company at technical seminars, exhibitions, training sessions, and online events.
- Work closely with R&D, engineering, and product teams to translate client requirements into technical solutions or product improvement suggestions.
- Support project management teams to ensure successful implementation of technical solutions that meet client expectations.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, proposals, and reports, providing standardized guidance for consulting and implementation.
- Complete other tasks assigned by the department manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- More than 20 years of experience integrating geophysics, geology, and reservoir engineering to evaluate and develop oil and gas assets, with significant focus on international portfolios.
- Proven track record in identifying exploration and development opportunities, supporting reserves growth, and contributing to M&A evaluations through comprehensive subsurface analysis.
- Advanced expertise in stratigraphic correlation, structural interpretation, and reservoir characterization to support full-cycle E&P activities, including early production schemes and Full Field Development Plans (FFDP).
- Strong understanding of Alberta regulatory requirements and industry practices, with experience supporting compliant and efficient development planning.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams across geoscience, reservoir, and operations functions within diverse and multicultural environments.
- Proficient in key industry software including GeoScout, AccuMap, SeisWare, Petrel, etc.
