About Our Church
Highland Park Evangelical Free Church (HPEFC) is a community of believers gathered around our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. A few years ago we experienced significant division, revealing that our church lost sight of Gospel-centeredness and unity. We are thankful to be working with a transitional pastor (January 2023-present) and have seen God at work, bringing focus, healing, and unity to our congregation. God has been reshaping what we value as a church, firstly in a renewed desire for Bible-based, gospel centered preaching. Second, there has been a hunger for fellowship outside of Sunday worship, with many in our congregation getting involved in Bible studies and prayer groups. Third, our value for outreach is growing: to be salt and light in our workplaces, in our local school, and in camp ministry. Our Church is one of four rural churches that supports Living Springs Bible Camp. Our typical worship gathering is around 80 people, young families with kids elementary age and below representing a large part of that number (~20 families). We are located in New Norway, a community of around 300 people and a K-12 school. We are surrounded by a large farming community and are 15 minutes from the city of Camrose (pop 19,000).
